Acute treatment is for patients who have sudden pain, swelling, or other urgent problems and need immediate help. When to choose it: • Severe toothache • Facial or gum swelling • Dental trauma (broken, knocked out tooth) • Bleeding in the mouth • Sudden deterioration What it involves: The goal is to quickly relieve pain and stabilize the condition. Treatment may include, for example, root canal treatment, pressure relief for inflammation, temporary treatment, or other necessary procedures. Acute treatment addresses the immediate problem, and may then need to be followed up with a full treatment at a later date.
